I'm 40 miles east of NYC on Long Island - we got hammered. I'm shocked that they got our power back on so quickly, maybe because there's a major power plant a mile away. No phones or cell, however. My neighborhood looks like it was bombed and we're blocked on our street. In an uncharacteristic moment of forward thinking, I parked one of our cars on the other side of some trees I thought might come down and block us in -and they all did. Otherwise we wouldn't be going anywhere for a while. NYC is in a very bad way, it's probably made your news reports.
