Subject:OT IGrand review

I did my first gig with the IGrand last night.
My NE3 is the controller. Midi out of the NE3 to a Line 6 midi Mobilizer.
1/8" out on the Ipad to two inputs on the Mackie 1204 VLZ Pro.
I use a QSC 12 as well as Shure IEM (625s I believe).
In short, it works like a champ. Cuts right through the mix and the EQ can be adjusted as well as the lid opening. I was using on of the IK desk mount Ipad gizmos and I shook the Nord and everything went to the ground. Luckily, no damage was done to the Ipad or connections.
I have one of those magnetic covers on my Ipad so I ditched the holder and set it, back down, on the Nord. It was magged to the top of the Nord and no movement at all.
I'm VERY happy to cart my grand around in an Ipad rather than my laptop.
After the initial scare of note drop-outs and a very informative tech reply from IK I'm happy to say I had no problems at all with polyphony, latency or drop-outs.
I now believe the drop-outs were due to some weirdness in the Motif ES7 I was using as a studio controller. It's getting on in years and there maybe something wrong with it.

This is a must have for anyone who has one board and wants to get a great sounding piano on an Ipad.

As always tastes are subjective. I'm a tried and true Yamaha lover but after buying the EZ keys grand and now this I have everything I need w/out carting the 50 pound monster around.

I'm hoping at some point I could integrate this with Sample Tank and get some good EP and Clav sounds. I'm not exactly sure how this might be done but that's a project for this week.
