This is 2012…the only sub should be in the PA and the engineer should know how to make you both sit in the mix…..
….if you are lucky!! ☺
Cheers!

So with a Subwoofer you must have to be very careful an not step on the Bass players toes ...an
fingers.....its a fine line ....I think...

"12 inch PA speakers are not designed to handle the deep bas"
You can't really make this a blanket statement. In cheap MI gear this may be true. As you get into higher quality
equipment you find excellent bass from 10" and 12" speakers. Usually the 15" two way systems you find in a music
store have very loose sounding flabby bass. In the higher end of the "music store" speakers QSC makes an outstanding
10" and 12" (K10 & K12) powered full range speaker. If you really want to kick heavy pedals they have a 2 12" sub that
is powered, about $700 and sounds great for the price. Heck, one of the most popular bass guitar rigs in history was
the Ampeg SVT with the 10" cabinets...granted they had 8 10"s in each cabinet so not really a fair comparison but more
bass than you can imagine and 10" speakers respond quicker than 15" or 18"s so the bass is nice and tight. I think if you
really want to have good sounding pedals you need a good sub or subs in your PA system. You don't want too much sound
level on stage or you will spoil your FOH mix.
