Used to do similar things: mac on a chair behind me or at my side
(needed to look at the screen only between songs, anyway). Sometimes
that wasn't possible, tough (ie: when I was placed front-center on the
stage or when there was no "stage" at all) and I remember with fear a
certain guitar player who always managed to place himself in the worst
possible point (last time I saw him, almost a year ago, he sat up his
playing spot exactly where my mojo's power transformer was placed!).
