A great deal of it has to do with his pride of workmanship. Just open a Speakeasy product and you will see what I mean. They are built like brick shithouses! Sure they are expensive, but you truly do get what you pay for. That is one of the reasons why I am put off by the latest Hammond/Suzuki products, or other modern massed produced electronic gear. It just looks and feels cheap. Ask any respected Hammond artist, given a choice at a gig they will choose a 60 year old console Hammond over any clone.
