I too, send my condolences to friends, family, and list members.
He was always willing to talk shop, and seemed to be in the players corner. For a manufacturer, he "got it", which enabled all of us the opportunity to, "get it".
His preamp pedal helped me get closer to my quest for tone (as the interface for my clone and leslie). Once I had my tone dialed in, I was able to really start, playing.
He was part of that process for me, to which I am grateful. I wasn't aware of his health issues, because I didn't know him that well. But the person I did know, he was a difference maker. My playing is better for having known him. I think he helped alot of people make better music. What a cool legacy.
He'll be missed.

Bill

Wow....it's rare that we lose list members, especially one that had the
influence that Steve did. And at such a young age.

It's no secret to some of the long time list members that I was one of Steve's
biggest ( if not his biggest) devil's advocates.

There is no need to go back there but in a nutshell I was always sort of a
proponent of the "tone on budget" concept while Steve had one of the few
companies offering custom keyboard gear to forum members. So we did but heads
every now and again.

I will commend him for not getting vicious about it and I hope I didn't either.
I did notice a trend that was moving away from all the preamps, leslies and
other such gear that Steve was offering and I wondered if people had suddenly
just become satisfied with what they had . Little did I know that his health
issues may have been playing a part in his reduced participation on this forum.

So I commend his efforts as the creative and good guy that he was. However he
was able to get all those ideas and products out there is a huge lesson to those
of us who have yet to see a fraction of our own creative efforts see the light
of day.

We will miss him.
