Subject:Re: Info on setting up a Ventilator with a Korg CX3 (latest and last version)
I'd second adding a tube pre in between the CX and the vent.I have a little presonis blue tube I craigslisted for 50$. And it won't matter which out you use, I have one out going to a leslie, the other to the vent in the studio, they get mixed up regularly and it doesn't sound any different. You'll have the leslie sim off in the vent anyway, so there's no stereo action happening. There's no midi on the vent, so the switches on the CX are going to be pretty useless unless you build some type of box. It'd be way easier to just make a box with the switches you need for the vent. I think Bruce (Ashby) even has a half moon setup already built.
I would really emphasize getting under the hood of the Korg and retweaking everything. If you need my settings where I ended up hit me up off list and I'll send them, but you'll need to still experiment depending on the sound you're used to and what you want your hammond to sound like. The vent was definitely a good move though!
