I work with several tribute bands. The Boston tribute (for example) plays the tunes exactly as recorded as much
as possible. In a Grateful Dead tribute it wouldn’t matter because they played the songs different every time.

Yeah, I have had my set list blow away in the wind at outdoor gigs but I could always have someone else call the song.

Except if you are in a tribute band, where you want it to sound as close as possible to the original everytime! We will add some accent type of variation, however, to keep it interesting.
Yes, clamps or tape takes care of the flying paper issues...been there too!

That's kind of the point...some music isn't meant to be played "exactly" the same way every time.
It's the spontaneity that makes the music interesting (sometimes!).....
