Subject:Re: [Hammond_xk-3] Music rest for SK2 using a Nord music stand
Hi Organ Cloner,
I didn't see the start of this thread. I use MusicReader PDF software on a Fujitsu Slate St5112 running Windows XP. It is a 12" screen in portrait mode. It is very very good for sheet music or other notes any way you want. These computers don't look like a laptop on stage. The screen is much bigger than an iPad.The software has a database library for organizing tunes, set lists, etc. Also wireless or USB page turning is easy.
I even attach MP3s from Youtube to the titles for practicing.
The same computer also runs my VSTs (VB3, synth1, RealGuitar, RealStrat, Green Machine Amp sim and other effects)with no problems. These slate computers were a couple of thousand dollars when new but are available on eBay for about $300 everyday.
I am looking for a backup one now but trying to snag a cheaper one.The only difficulty I have found is that you cannot see it outside in even indirect sunlight.
