Subject:Re: [Hammond_xk-3] Music rest for SK2 using a Nord music stand
Jim ...Wow you must have superman eyes ...To see a chart on an iPhone ..I would have to have
it about 4 in from my eyes .. and then of course to turn the page on the chart ..as always one hand comes off the keys ...
When using my Nord Electro 3 I have a sheet music stand positioned in front and almost touching the edge of my keyboard ...
I have gotten use to that. My eyes have aged also along with the rest of me ..
I wanted to go with an iPad ....but that was too small also for me ..even just using cheat sheets with changes and lyrics ...takes
some space on the page ...
I tried a laptop for awhile also ..it was a wider 17 in laptop but the downward length of the pages of the sheet music was still to small on the
laptop ...meaning i need to use a mouse or the touchpad to turn the page or scroll ....
For me
I find that i can put cheat sheets in a 3 ring binder and it fits on the page for my eyes ..an that is placed on the external sheet
music stand ...much easier ...just turn the page ..IMHO
And for a Gig ....of course having the GiG play list already set up and tunes one after the other means just turning the page ...
again this is what works for me ..
of course the band agreeing on the Gig Play list ...and not changing it in the mid of a set on the bandstand is another
conversation all together ...
That happens most often in a "leaderless " band ... haha ...

The full XK Traditional System comes with a detachable wooden music rack.
Of course this begs the question: how difficult is it to use a music stand?
Personally, when I have to read a chart, I use my iPhone, which fits fine
either on top of the XK3 or to the side on the SK2.
