Subject:Re: Help me identify what I found rattling inside my Korg CX-3 V2
This is most likely a counterweight from one of the keys. On the early
CX-3s -- the 'version 1' with the keys with short, fat laps on the ends
-- this was a common issue, particularly with the sharps. I've never
heard of it happening with the waterfall keybed, but I suppose it might.
You have two options:
1. Replace the broken key.
2. Glue the weight back on with a decent quality epoxy.
If you have the v1 CX-3, we have replacement keys available here at
Ashby Solutions. Contact me offline for details and pricing.
I have glued several of them back together, and they seem to work fine
-- at least for a while. (I sold my v! CX-3 many years ago, so I can't
say for certain, but the repair job was working months later.)
