OK, so we gone from a recommendation of 3 meters/yards separation to 20"now? I guess ya just gotta see what sounds best to you depending on your rig and the rooms acoustics. I use a Yamaha EMX 312 powered stereo mixer with 2 Yorkville 160 mains In my studio which is 12 x 20', I'm at the 12' end and the 3-yard separated (actually about 2 1/2)Vent animation sounds more convincing to me than when closer together. Other stereo patches sound good like this as well. I have not tried this set up on stage yet, however.

I use`K12s with my E3 & I will generally place one close to me and the other on the other side of the stage or playing area...sounds amazing for the vent and all those other sweet stereo sounds like the ping pong vibrato on the rhodes (use that a lot!) with this set-up I have so much head-room it's ridiculous!
