Personally I like to place my speakers (two fbt stage monitors) hight
behind me, just to my sides.

Someone here recently pointed out that most Leslie simulations gives
the best if the speakers are about 3 meters apart. Still hadn't tried
(wanted to last time I played out, this Saturday, but I only had short
cables with me!!!) but i can confirm the sound is harsher when those
are about a meter apart (that is: while my rig is at home. No space to
experiment with more distance).
