I enjoy playing next to my Leslie in the summer as it does double as a cooling fan. Also if anyone has any doubt that regular speakers move air, try standing next to a big bass woofer pounding out a tune while wearing a pair of shorts!

I think the term should be 'bouncing air,' because it's the reflections
off the walls that make the difference between a room Leslie or a great
simulator. If you've ever listened to a Leslie outdoors in a wide open
space, it loses some of its magic.

And yeah, a Leslie does act as a fan. I played in a restaurant with no
stage many years ago: They seated diners on the dance floor until
9:00PM, but we always started at 8:00. I was asked (in dead
seriousness) *not* to use Tremolo speed until after dinner one night,
because a woman was complaining that it was making her food cold! (And
yes, we were *that* close to the customers during dinner hour!)
