Subject:Re: Anyone still using Barbetta amps?
Still have my 13 year old 32C; use it occasionally for keys, sometimes for bass. It works fine, and still sounds good. Almost always able to hear it well on stage - as long as it's on my adjustable stand, or tilted up from the floor (a brick, or chunk of wood placed under the front usually has done the trick). Compared to current powered cabs I've played through, it's a tad noisy (hiss).
Most of the time I take out a QSC K10, with a separate line mixer. I put it on a adjustable tilt/ height amp stand. Though the dispersion is wider than a K12, it's still sometimes a challenge to hear myself clearly throughout a gig. I often have to adjust the stand angle, and even its location on stage. Doesn't help either that I play, for the most part, with a band where the instrumentalists have very inconsistent stage levels, and the drummer uses an electronic kit.... I hate dealing with those unless the act is working in a concert sound setting, i.e. - world class monitoring.
