Subject:FAKE vs REAL ..CLONE VS HAMMOND ...One users view

Previously a user claimed that .... on a YouTube test of WLM w/HOAX clone vs hammond the clone sounded FAKE !!! or maybe hesaid "Fakish"

First off ...I kinda  take offense to the term   "FAKE" used within this user group....as we

are all members of this group ..surely tells me we all accept an love our CLONES ....So to even

enter a claim of a clone being   "FAKE"  which in its very existence is a simulation or sample of whatever

sound is being created ...
I think we all agree that a CLONE Is not the REAL THING ...but they are really sophisticated attempts at
re-creations of again whatever sound is being used or created ...

So is a Clone of a CLONE ...FAKER than the Clone ??  (my lame attempt at humor)

But back to the main gist of my Rant ...

This appears to be a classic case of  "you can please some of the people some of the time " etc etc etc ..
But you certainly cannot please all the people all the time .....

My claim is the pepsi test/Hammonds VS Clones .... especially when performed on YOUTUBE is not valid because sound on YOUTUBE precipitates inaccuracies  especially in Leslies vs Simulated rotary devices ...... 
and we pretty much all agree that Leslies  sound best when live ... also

Most Hammond players I ever knew ..believed that EVERY Hammond sounded diff ...for many various reasons .
age, shape, player ability ........etc

Again my claim is

A clone VS a Real lifesize Hammond B3  C3 A100    ...and take 5 clones and 5 Hammonds with and or without

Leslies or Vents and I do not believe anyone can  get it 100% correct in guessing which is which ...

But of course this test/claim will never take place and will never be proven ...or dis proven ...

Now that said .....

I do believe that I have never heard a real live big ol Hammond that  sounds clean .....or as perfect a sound as  clones ( enter the digital age )    ...so when I hear

a very clean sounding organ on a recording ....I am suspecting a clone ...but then add a VENTILATOR to that clone ...and WOW ....the ability to manipulate the sound by the player multifies 100 fold ..

I do love my Ventilator ...( Thank you Bruce! ...) ...

This is all   IMHO...and as always ...the Secretary will disavow any knowledge of my actions ...

And if i have offended anyone 

This disc will selfdestruct in 5 seconds ..

and make sure you eat a cracker in between each and every Pepsi test of Clone VS Hammond ..!!

Jack,

I don't think the HOAX sounds fake. However, I think this demo sounds more like my families M3 that I played in my living room growing up (with a small 110 or 125 leslie). There's some growl/dirt/grit/keyclick that's missing, which is why I asked if we could make another recording with the OD turned up (along with Percussion and C2 Chorus/full ranks)..

I wouldn't say it sounds fake, I think it sounds like a spinet (L or M) playing at low volume... It's too clean sounding, and it's missing Overdrive and balls that we've come to expect from a real B3.

Put it through a ventilator and crank it up and it might sound awsome!
