Subject:Re: Installing H.O.A.X.-3 card into a WLM organ
I actually prefer clean organ sounds, never use overdrive. My
overdrive knob will probably end up stuck at far left position in a
few years!
What I'm saying is that I can recognize that what I'm hearing is not a
"real" Hammond organ (spinets included) immediately and probably,
hearing a bit more of it, I would probably recognize an HOAX without
problems (as I akready usually do with VB3, keyb, nords, VASEIII and
EVB3, with a very little margin of error, especially if played without
a real Leslie).
It's clearly giggable, can't say if it sounds much or less convincing
than VASEIII without hearing more, it surely sounds less "real" than
today's "top" engines (VB3 1/2, keyb's/numa's, nord's).
If I had an old clone without midi options (an obhereim perhaps) I
would probably consider it, not surely on the xb3 (it has to be noted:
it seems that suzukis can't be used effettively with VB3. Or,
actually, they can be used but you're left without working sets of
drawbars, not an option for many of us).
