Subject:Softstep Success

Hi Organ Cloners,
I have been using a Softstep foot controller with my VB3 for awhile now. I really like this controller because it is so little and very versatile. It IS however an absolute bear to program.

I have used it for adjusting drawbars, A/B presets, brake and Leslie switch. The reason I am posting is because I finally got the brake and Leslie speed working a very good way.

One footpad controls Leslie switching (on/off). It is a toggle, one press fast, another press slow. Pretty standard stuff here.

It is the brake that I really like and it was partly an accident. I have the brake set up on the footpad directly above the Leslie switch. This footpad is programmed as momentary.

If I tap the brake the Leslie spins down to a complete stop. Each time I tap it after that it advances the horn just a little to adjust the stop point in case the horn position is not exactly what you want.

Here is the kicker though. If I keep the brake pad pressed down then I have the Leslie spinning (speed dependent on what it was before brake). Lift my foot up and the brake is applied again.

If I just slide my foot off the brake footpad onto the switching footpad I have latched the leslie on.I really like this setup. If anyone wants details such as modlines or settings I will provide them.

I finally have the Leslie control the way I like it.
