True, but in retrospect, we used to spend a fortune on duplicate amps,
big speaker cabs, etc. Why not just beef up the PA and use the amps we
already had? (Rhetorical question, of course!) I think the visual
effect had a lot to do with it. At least, until the promoters started
to count up the prep costs for concerts. ;-)
