Subject:Re: Bass sound
I'm interested to see this topic come up, I've been thinking about it for a while, as I play left hand bass in both the groups I'm in. One of the groups needs more punchy bass than the Mojo provides, a la Soulive (I was using a Nano bass for a while, which worked okay, except that I couldn't control the volume without an extra pedal and cables, and also I need transpose sometimes, which it wouldn't do). For me, the main issue is that the Mojo's foldback causes some inconsistent bass, especially at lower volumes. I've been thinking about getting and experimenting with the Korg microSTATION - very light and compact, should have some good bass sounds, and since it will be midi-ed in, I could use electric piano sounds as well, without having to switch into a different mode on the Mojo. The teeny keyboard is actually pretty easy to play, it could be used as a separate instrument. Anyone else using a micro or similar keyboard? I'm hoping that it can be set to respond to the Mojo's swell pedal.....
I've never been able to use the synth bass built into the Mojo, it's just too loud and hard to control. It sounded really good in the video of "Road Song" Guido put up on Youtube, but I haven't been able to get it to work for me....
