Subject:Re: 'Stuff' Happening
1) 99 and 44/100 % certain Andrea is a guy ... and a manly man at that!
2) Scatological references (such as feces happening) are NOT considered obscene in all cultures ... particularly in conjunction with things gone awry ... what was the first word out of your mouth the last time you accidentally hit your thumb with a hammer? Did you consider the reaction to obscene? Doubt anyone around you did either. Perhaps Andrea should have translated his remark into something more akin to "Oops ... we try to catch everything, but sometimes things either fall through the cracks or shippers handle things roughly," but he was able to convey all of this in two words.
3) The knee-jerk reaction of someone who espouses no previous experience with Andrea, Guido and the new Crumar company should be given no more weight than the claims of a 19th hole golfer ... one who sits and drinks in the bar every afternoon and talks a great game of golf, but who has never held a club in his hand ... sometimes these guys are also known as "bartenders" (no insult intended to bartenders). While it is true that most of us have had experience with manufacturers, it is probably not ethical for any of us to speak to the practices, responses or perceived intents of manufacturers with whom we have had no interaction, even if we own a product of theirs ... in that case, we can speak to how we feel about the product, but without having experience with a company's support system, we have absolutely nothing of value to contribute regarding it.
In Crumar's case, we are fortunate to have direct access to the vender, and the hardware/software developer. While not unprecedented in the business, I am not aware of another clonewheel manufacturer (other than perhaps KeyB's maker) where this is possible. The MojoMusician's group is not shy about holding Andrea's and Guido's feet to the fire, and represents a sizable percentage of users in the US, as well as many from around the world. We talk to them, we talk to each other and they talk to us ... issues get worked out and NOT ONCE can I recall anything not being resolved to a user's satisfaction. In case you don't get it yet, new Crumar is a very, VERY good company, of which I cannot speak highly enough. I will not stand for anyone libeling them in this forum or any other without response, as this is serious stuff. Perception is reality in a potential customer's mind and this is a GREAT company that many (most, I dare say) of its customers want to see succeed.
Meanwhile, I would be very surprised if Crumar has not already sent a return authorization to the OP along with a link to download a return shipping label (at Crumar's expense) and probably already has a replacement instrument on the way to him! That's just the sort of company Crumar is ... that good ... that ethical ... NO 5h^%!
