It's nice to hear that at least one list member ( Ken ) is benefitting from using a VK8m module. I wrote about how much I liked mine for years, though unfortunately mine was stolen while on loan.

Before the Key B/ Numa and VB3 engine came out it was the clone sound that worked best for me because of the excellent( and unsurpassed for many years) chorus vibrato and overdrive.

I did not have any shrillnes issues with either the VK7 or VK8m. Check your speakers.

There was some discussion a few years ago regarding the fact that
*some* versions of the VK7 actually had an updated chorus vibrato ( similar to VK8 and 88) that could be achieved via changing an internal e prom that also affected the leslie simulator.

The people who discussed this may be long gone from this list, but I actually played a VK7 at Sam Ash in Hollywood that I swear had the same chorus as the VK8m. I tried to find out if it was for sale, but it had been sold.
