Imogen thrives on improvisation. On her last major tour she always performed an improvisational song where she polls the audience for the key signature and time signature to be used.

She also has had to improvise with these gloves (and she is not always triggering samples) recently when performing when she had some technical trouble during a performance. Her extensive use of cutting edge technology often results in "glitches" when performing live...

I am a big fan of Ms Heap, but I have noticed that her loop-based style sometimes dictates the form of her compositions. However, she is extremely creative in her use of technology.

Her music has been extensively sampled by many hip hop artists, which is recognition she is reaching people.
