Actually, always had that problem, no matter the host: VB3 is always a lot quieter than my other VSTs.

On The Mojo (Windows…) I've solved with Cantabile Lite (only reason for my switch from Mini VST Host to it, actually: you can raise the main volume a lot), still haven't really solved it on the Mac. Lowered the output of the other patches in Garageband -not that I ever play live with those, these days- and raised to maximum the general one and the one of VB3 patch, yet I often have to raise the Mac's main volume almost to the maximum to have enough volume (and that's not a good thing, at home, if I forget to close mail and the incoming mail sound is played at a ludicrous volume!).

Some of whose are experiencing this problem less probably turn up more than I do the main volume and the pedal. I NEVER go over halfway on bot of them, it's a key point in getting the sound I desire…To play in a Deep Purple tribute, however, you need to pump a lot more to get the right distortion. And in jazz you can do both, depending on you taste.

As usual, that's just my way, not "the way": different tastes for different persons.
