Subject:Re: VB3 and PC3
So you're saying that for a live gig you'd place your trust in an old, underpowered laptop that could potentially crap out on you in the middle of a song?
As a PC3 owner who has also tried out VB3 (and loves it, by the way, in spite of its latency), I sure as heck wouldn't trust it to run perfectly during a live gig. It doesn't take much to get Windows to crash or a hard disk to fry without warning at any time. And how are you going to output VB3 sounds with any quality through the laptop's cheap internal sound card going through a 1/8" audio output? You'd probably have to get an external USB audio interface, which adds even more performance lag to your system.
Of course, I suppose that if your laptop did die on you you could always use the PC3's KB3 for the rest of the gig. :)
