Subject:Keith Jarrett ( on organ ) with Miles Davis/ LIVE EVIL

I saw Keith play organ with Miles Davis ( May 1971....over 40 years ago now!) and the organ he used was a Fender model.

I have never seen anyone play this particular model organ before or since. Keith actually played the Fender organ and a Fender Rhodes simultaneously.

Miles must have had an endorsement deal with Fender at the time since there was a link to Columbia records , CBS and Fender musical instruments. Keith probably just played what Miles told him to.

If you have never heard it , check out Keith's unaccompanied solo on the tune FUNKY TONK from Miles' record LIVE EVIL. There are a couple broken notes on the Fender Rhodes but Keith uses them to great advantage.

I consider this solo one of Keith's brilliant moments of spontaneous composition. In actuality, there is nothing else like it in modern music.
