Subject:Re: First gig last night using just my Kronos/CX3 engine - great/OK

I have become an avid PC3 user since my purchase of a PC3 (76) and a PC3-61.
I've owned Hammonds and Leslies, Nords and Vents and Both Roland VK's (7
and 8)
and numerous amazing synths & pianos (Yamaha CP8 is STILL my favorite!),
LOL !
I've finally just realized that at my age (55) being handicapped that
schlepping all the cool gear around
to have the "Real Deal" just isn't worth it since there ARE instruments out
there that sound incredible.
I understand the purists out there about the ergonomics of a real B3, the
feel of the hammer hitting the
on a nice acoustic piano and such and I'd be lying if I said I didn't miss
those things. But...on the other hand
I play well over 100 gigs a year and moving and maintaining gear and
keyboards are a prime concern of mine.
With the PC3 series ( and others, like the Kronos ) I have very playable,
very acceptable sounds of many types
with one keyboard. With either the PC3 or the PC361 midi'd into my Yamaha
S08 (which I ONLY use for a controller)
The triple strike piano totally comes alive and is frankly, one of the best
I've ever played. The KB3 organ engine is beastly
since the OS update and is certainly a Hammond cloned to be reckoned with.
That being said, I have "tweaked" mine extensively.
I just wanted to tell ya'll this because I really do SO love my current rig
and to not be afraid of thinking about the "ONE" keyboard solution. :)
Sometimes I do use both Pc3 and PC361 to have 2 KB3 (Upper/Lower) and that
rocks also ! http://rhondels.ucoz.com/cal/PC31.jpg
