Subject:Re: OT- Publish before perish

I'm turning 57 in May, and most of the guys in my band are the same vintage (drummer is late 40's), and we bucked the system and put out an original classic rock CD in January of 201, that got some great recognition, and we continue to play bars/private parties 2-3 times a month, and we have a pretty good fan base (that continues to expand) and our CD paid for itself so all is good. The CD is getting regular airplay on Hammond radio, and I'm still getting the odd cheque for CD Sales in the mail.. so I can't really complain.

As a band we have no particulary expectations, except to continue to play great mid 60's to mid 70's classic rock, along with a few of our original tunes tossed in here and there.  We love playing together. We may record another CD and I'm starting to get the bug again and I may start writing again soon.. At last Saturdays gig we actually discussed the possibility of another CD.. and no one said NO...  (although there were a few sarcastic comments about finding the time)..

Thats where I'm at.

Craig MacDonald

I often get the feeling that a number of this group's members are "older"... that is, guys (and girls) who played out mostly during the 70's and 80's. People sort of caught "in between" appreciation for the old-school equipment and the advantages of software recording and instruments. Seems like only yesterday that a sweet sounding synth pad really did it doesn't it? Not to mention all those years that no one even wanted to hear a Hammond sound.

Anyway, I guess my point in all this is... what are people's plans? More recoring for posterity? Publishing on the internet market? Playing out? Writing? Just curious about how the rockers of the 70's and 80's plan to spend the time they have now... myself included.
