Subject:Re: Stereo vs Mono: How ?

I can only speak to my situation, but most modern keyboard amps are designed to receive a stereo pair, even if they don't 'sound' in stereo. My amp (the ubiquitous Roland KC-550) line outputs to the PA are either stereo or combined if using the left output only. You don't end up with the same phase issues that might result if you bring your stereo output back together with a Y-cord adapter, for instance. (I assume the amp's internal summing of the two signals compensates somehow.) Additionally I've started plugging my in-ears into my amp headphone jack so I'm back to hearing myself in stereo. Now I no longer have to position my amp so carefully to hear myself, it's more for everyone else.
