Thanks for all the feedback folks, I really appreciate it. Since it's only going to cost me a hundred bucks, and my friend is willing to buy it and transport it for me, I think I'm going to get it and hook it up just to see what it sounds like. If I don't keep it in the end, I figure I can always recoup the investment (and probably some more), and then I'll know what they sound like!

(As an aside, it appears to me that it could be much like the sound some players prefer, which is a Leslie with the bass rotor motor disabled so the bass is always static......)
