Since I am not an SK or XK owner it was hard for me to tell a difference but I thought they were related nonetheless. Once again, I did not hear vast difference on the SK compared to any XK I have heard, which is sort of the point of this whole discussion. I have yet to hear one of the Hammond portables that uses the same C/V as the one in the new (20K plus) B-3, though Hammond Suzuki has claimed for years that it is the same sound engine as the XK's. Perhaps they consider that the "effects" are not a part of that? But to me, C/V is real important, not small thing at all if I am going to plunk down 2000 dollars or so for an instrument. Plus I don't particularly want to pay 500 or so for a state of the art leslie sim on top of that. I also had a chance to hear the extra sounds a bit yesterday. Another claim made by a notable HS endorsee was that these were going make the Nord Electro obsolete. At least based on what I heard yesterday, this was not the case.
