You're absolutely right. If you read their blog, they talk about
redesigning their main circuit board and still trying to decide which
drivers/speakers to use. My impression of current technology is that
computer modeling and driver manufacturing has reached the point where
the designer can get the desired result without much guessing.
Therefore, it seems that they are quite a ways from having a
production-ready product.

As far as price goes, any manufacturer has to consider the cost to
manufacturer versus the competition versus the hype/snob factor (for
example, it's long been my opinion that Bose is way overpriced--home
systems and pro systems that that they are able to get their price based
on hype). In other words, will Ultrafunk decide to compete on price and
quality against companies like QSC or will they decide to aim for those
with too much money?

If anyone from Ultrafunk reads this, I'd love to hear your viewpoint.
