Well it does get confusing with Chicago moreso today. They had so much
going on, horn section, wild guitar solos from Terry Kath, great
singing from Cetera, Kath, Lamm. drum solos from Danny. and then Lamm
is on Hammond. There was something for everybody. But back in the day
if you were a kid growing up in the 60's that Hammond sound stuck out
like a sore thumb. Unless you were deaf, you could not help but be
drawn to it. Chase was another of those bands in the CTA vein.
Lowdown had the Hammond in there as did other songs.

I never thought that the band Chicago really used much in the way of
organ, although a lot of Brian Adams' material from the 80's had a
prominent Hammond sound.

Yeah there are those that do. And you have to respect that in Grace.
John Mayer travels with a B3/flight case and flies it all over the
world. And if its really part of his sound is debateable. Unlike Brian
Adams or as this thread suggests, Chicago.
Lady Gaga is set to appear. We'll see if she brings her Hammondstore
chop like she did her plexiglas piano, or both. And its all about props
with her.

Grace Potter still tours with her B3 and Leslie... although the point
of maintenance, transport, etc. is well taken. I bet though if you
asked her why she still used her B she would mention at least something
about aesthetics or something similar.
