The way concert production works, the artist asks for gear in their
riders. The production company sponsoring the concert will try to meet
the request or supply an alternative. In some areas on the planet and
situations, the concert production company takes a loss on an artist's
draw at the venue, providing transportaion, lodgings, artist fees, just
to be considered for the next concert coming down the pike to keep in
good standing with the promoters. Realize there are more than one
concert production company jockeying for the same concerts in a given
town or country. You play ball, chances are good they will look for you
on the next act. The plan is to make a killing on the next concert to
make up for the loss of the previous smaller draws. Many times the
artists are big name who have fallen out of vogue or mood with the
public, yet the promoters field these acts constantly and will continue
to work with production companies who are willing to take a gamble.
Like mining for gold, you shovel a lot of shite until you hit the
motherload.

Nothing sad about it, if that is what he chooses to play, and that
where he finds what he needs.

Yeah, that is truly sad.... Jimmy Greenspoon has been touring with a
