True, but there are many levels between an exact copy of a B-3 and a
laptop computer.
Agreed, although I have been impressed with the basic sound of the VB3, there has always been “something” missing in the feel of playing it for me. I don’t know if it was latency (I really didn’t notice any) or just the idea of playing a “laptop” that just seemed wrong on some level.
In particular, the discussion started around the
preset keys. Personally -- and this is strictly my opinion -- I've
always hated the preset keys on a console Hammond. They're too easy to
accidentally hit while doing palm glisses, which generally results in a
cancel of all presets, and no sound.
Boy does that bring back memories! ☺ I also doubt that any clone would withstand the amount of Jack Daniel’s and guitar picks I lost between the keys of the B’s and C’s in the “old” days and still remained playable!
