Well.. we can always count on Hammond Dave to tell it like it is! All this
coming from a former XK3 owner, after all.....
I played the SK1 at the NAMM show and sure enough.... it sounded like the
XK3 to me. Which is great if you happen to like the XK3, as many do. And
yes, I did hear the noise in the piano sample.
So why did Hammond Suzuki not buy the Mojo sound engine? Maybe it is
because Guido is smart enough not to sell it.
There is a tremendous buzz around the Mojo as we speak. If any of the
majors are smart enough to be paying attention, they will possibly notice
that this little company sold out of units as soon as they went to
independent distribution.
I will be lucky if I get to hear a Mojo any time soon! Meanwhile I am
wondering if I can really deal with lugging around dual manuals or if I
need to . And also, the Numa is still working fine for me. I get
everything I need out of it sound wise and my unit has been dependable so
far. I don't feel a great need to "upgrade" any time soon.
