Subject:Re: Keyboard stands
I use the K&M 18880 with the 18881 second tier. I got it to use gigging with a Kurzweil 76 key PC3 on lower and Nord Electro 3 on top. VERY lightweight, made of aircraft grade welded aluminum alloy. It sets up in seconds, and I have had my PC3X 88 key lower and the PC3 upper. I usually run expression pedals on the outside and switch pedals on the inside.
I have found no way to get the boards really close to each other (of course, I can't see the display on the lower board if I do). They do have a third tier; but I haven't tried it. I would think the boards would be too far apart to be comfortable playing.
I was using an OnStage 2-tier Z stand, but the K&M weighs 1/3 of the OnStage, and is much quicker setting up and tearing down.
