The problem was that I installed the Korg driver, which doesn't work with Windows 7 64-bit. When I replaced that with a generic Windows 7 USB driver, the NanoKontrol was recognized correctly. I found the answer in a thread on the Cakewalk forum- http://forum.cakewalk.com/tm.aspx?m=2152081
