The Shure wired beltpack  uses a 9volt battery.  I've done 12 full nite gigs on ONE BATTERY, and it finally started to peter out on gig 13.   Obviously, the wireless units eat batteries a lot quicker.  I have the P6hw which are harder to find, but here's the P4Hw (hard wired), and you can get it for under $300.  http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/P4HW/

Lou,

For the blues band I primarily play with and the blues jam several of us
host, I'm pretty much only using VB3. Akoustik Piano and Mr. Ray plug-ins.
While I initially set-up and monitor in stereo via a set of headphones, the
remainder of the gigs I'm using a K10. I know that I am missing something
pleasant by only getting a mono feed. Even if it's only me hearing the
stereo mix, it is more of an inspiration to hear the quality of those stereo
mixes.

Lou, I am now worrying about that 9 volt battery and the fact that it would
no last long. Your mention of the battery seems to be a valid one. I now
wonder, but I'm still trying to keep my gear count and weight down and this
will now add to it. I say that with some reserve as my right ear is ringing
quite loudly and I have not played in four days.

Although I have used the equivalent of the Shure SE215s for many years, we
are now switching to the SE425s, which are beautiful sounding.  We use Aviom
personal mixers, and I definitely, highly, and strongly recommend having a
stereo feed.  I think it actually helps me to play better when I can space
the sounds apart.
