One thing to consider is that IEMs have their pros and cons. Not everyone is comfortable wearing them and a lot
of the feel of the show is lost to the musician. I personally don't like them as the interaction between other band members
and the audience is lost to some degree. As a FOH engineer I love them for obvious reasons and vocalists seem to hold their tune
better with IEMs. In a concert situation I would not use them (personally) however in a casino or small cabaret gig I would probably
put up with them as a musician. It's a personal preference and if you can get used to them they do have many benefits.

Fox and Crew:
All of these replies to my original post of only a few hours ago are very
helpful.
I don't know if it's important for me to have a wireless because I don't
move, but as soon as I'm 'wired-in' and possible forget the umbilical cord,
maybe I'll regret it; I don't know.
I usually take weeks or months to make a decision like this, but because I
have an issue that needs nurturing, today I've made it a priority to do
something about it, even if I'm reacting too quickly.
Thank you all.

I'm using an Aviom system with my band and love it! Our unit has a 16
channel personal monitor mixer for each person, with each channel (they're
all mono) assignable anywhere in the stereo spectrum you desire. You can
turn off stuff you don't want, turn up stuff you want and (if the whole
band's up for it), completely reduce your stage volume to next to nothing,
which will make your sound tech very happy! While it is a hard-wired
system, you can always get a transmitter..
