Subject:Re: Getting To Finally See & Hear The Studiologic NumaOrgan

Over the weekend I had the opportunity to see the James Montgomery Band perform on stage in an acoustically ideal performance hall in Lowell, MA.  His keyboard player had a couple of keyboards in his rig.  One was some sort on synthesizer (black in colour and 90 degrees from the audience's view so I could only see it's profile).  The other keyboard, with it's back facing the audience was, however, immediately recognizable... it's cream colour gave it away... a NumaOrgan.  The player used it throughout the evening, not only with James but backing up some other guest musicians in a few jams.  Since there was no Leslie in his vicinity (and no place to place such a speaker even off-stage) the Numa was apparently going through some sort of multi-speaker amp behind him and he reached over on the organ (to the right) everytime the rotary speaker speed changed so I'm guessing he was using the organ's built-in rotary effect.  Anyhow the keyboard sounded
incredibly like a B3!  On the slow speed, the C/V, when switched on, sounded particularly distinctive.  Percussion seemed spot on as well and on occasion the player was able to get a really nice "growl" out of the keyboard and the rotary effect sounded awesome (and authentic). 
Like I said in the "Subject" title of this message, this was the first time I got to see and hear the NumaOrgan and I have to say that I was very impressed.
