Subject:Re: Kronos X. . .
Despite how much I wanted to absolutely love Main Stage, and really doing a lot of creative stuff with it, I had too many challenges with it at rehearsals and performing. I'm sure the error was me, but after several times of it changing keys me, and some problems with my pitch wheel, programs seeming to change when I had no intention etc, I threw in the towel. (I know its stuff I'm doing, but if its that easy for me to mess it up, I need something a bit more fool/Gene proof.)
After reading Craigs comments and a couple of private emails, I sold my old Motif ES and I have a bunch of other stuff up for sale. I picked up a Kronos 61. The one I got had a very loud fan noise and on the Kronos forum, it seems like a common problem. But my dealer said to return it becasue many do not have this problem. In the mean time, the Kronos X came out.
He offered that I could wait for the X should I want to upgrade and I decided yes. So my Kronos 61 with loud fan is going back and I will have the X when they arrive in a couple of weeks. Kronos X has 1 gig more RAM, larger solid state hard disk, supports a 2nd disk, has additional sound libraries preloaded so after previewing the you can purchase if you would like. And it has an ethernet connection for fast loading your own samples or externally purchased sounds if you'd like. The new OS will be available for Kronos owners and supports all these extra features.
In the mean time I'm really enjoying tweaking the K61 for a gig tonight. And both my daughters are out of college, so I'm going to splurge a bit on myself.
