In addition to the Velocity curves that are selectable for the Extra Voices there is also a parameter that was added in one of the early software updates. It is called Velocity Offset. It enables the user to add (or subtract) a value to the velocity value generated by playing the keys. It can be somewhat difficult to generate a very high velocity value while playing (no matter how fast one hits the keys) and thus not generate the attack harmonics and other sounds like string strikes and tine plucks or whatever they would be called and also some of the breath noises etc. on the horns and flute. The Velocity Offset setting can make it much easier to bring all that out without feeling like one is playing Whack-A-Mole with the keys.
