Current VST host software optimised for live performance should have no issues with sticking notes or midi hang on a laptop or PC with adequate system resources.. I currently use 9 different VST's including VB3 for my live rig and have yet to have sticking note or midi hangs once the host software (Cantabile) has finished initialising.  These days I suspect inadequate system resources or poorly coded VST's are the only possible culprits when they occur.
