Now I'm wondering whether or not to buy those Alesis Monitor 1 Mark II studio monitors I've been thinking about. I do have some other Alesis equipment that I've had for quite some time and I've always been happy with... but the inMusic news makes me a little nervous.

Hopefully, things will be fine. When inMusic bought Alesis, the product
support actually got *better*. I think Alesis had been in tough
finances for a while, and that directly affected their support.
inMusic's support of Akai has also been good, based on my limited
experience.

If by 'support,' though, you mean continuation of product lines and
future OS support, that's a whole 'nuther question. It will depend on
whether the lines have been selling well, and the company's opinion of
their future promise.
