Sorry for jumping in here in the middle but isn't Peak 1.414 x RMS and Peak to Peak 2.828 x RMS? And aren't they really just different ways to measure the same thing.

RMS power is the DC equivalent. That is, if you had two light bulbs and powered one with a sine wave, it's RMS measurement would be the same as the DC measurement if the bulbs were lit to the same brightness.

And as you mention Peak is the measurement from the midpoint or zero crossing point of a sine wave to it's crest and Peak to Peak is 2 times Peak or from the sine wave's trough to it's crest.

These previous two measurements of Peak and Peak to Peak were of the same sine wave in the first example, they would also light the same bulb to the same brightness.

Same power(voltage x current), different yard sticks.
