There is, though. Slow & fast speeds and belt tightness are separately adjustable for top and bottom. Maybe he has them set exactly the same somehow. I keep mine with a looser belt setting on the bottom.
I did think the fast speed was slightly 'warbly' on the recording, I try to soften that a bit. Also, the reverb on the VB3 is curiously unusable, so I have a channel insert take care of that.
