Subject:To be able to test in shop or not - the flipside of boxmoving

There is a flipside to webshops and box moving.
The chance of getting good support and service and to do hands on testing goes out the window.
When you buy from a net shop or haggle down the price in your local shop using the webshop as a comparisong you are in a way shooting yourself in the foot.
Any business survives on its margins.
OK if there is a Rolls Royce or two on the shopowners parkinglot go ahead and haggle hard - he is ripping off his custorers.
In most cases where you have a locally owned shop I doubt if they are carving gold with a nife.
With that said - why not support your local music store so they can afford to hold decent size of stock so you can enjoy poppong in every now and then to test gear and chat with the competent staff that they can afford to employ.

Low price may not always be the best long term deal.
