Subject:Another NORD C2D clip
I noticed another NORD C2D clip posted on the Keyboard Magazine forums.. and I don't think it's been posted here (if it has my apologies for the duplication). The sound quality is much better than the other NAMM videos that have been posted in the last week, which were awful (my opinion of course).
I'm not sure who's recording this is.. it was posted on Soundcloud by "Baldrust". Is that someone here on the clonewheel forum? If so perhaps you could identify yourself and give us your thoughts on the new C2D??
The clip sounds pretty good to my ears, although there is some hiss/noise that seems to increase in the quiet parts which makes me suspicious that there's some significant amount of compression being applied in the recorder. The comments regarding the clip suggest that it was recorded directly from the headphone output into a Zoom H2. You can listen to it here..

The keyclick, which is very loud in the first section, sounds like a distinct improvement over previous Nord organs (based on what I've read NORD has done a lot of work in this area), and the leslie sim sounds a tad better too, although you don't get an opportunity to listen to the sim speed up and slow down on held notes or chords on different drawbar settings. Also, based on the drawbar settings used on the clip, I didn't really get a sense for how well the C2D really opens up and screams, and neither can you get a sense for how the new percussion sounds.. I don't think we hear a normal/fast percussion setting (if it was, it certainly wasn't tweaked up very loud like I would have it).
