Subject:Re: First Video of the C2D from the NAMM both
I havenīt heard the VB3 2.0. I do own the VB3 1.4 which i like. I may
rebuild my XB3 one do be a controller for the VB3.
The XB3 has some really wierd midi implementations. So you would have put
in a new voltage to midi card for the drawbas to get a good behaviour. But
that just takes a little time
As for the sound of the VB3 1.4 it currently is one step behind the C2D in
some areas. The VB3 is a really usefull plugin.
The leslie simulation is great.
The leakage model sound a little strange in my ears - there may be a hidden
setting that i have missed. The leakage has mainly the sound of the
adjesant wheel as far as i can hear. Where as the B3 i tested the C2D
agains had a leakege shimmer. That is you can faintly hear all notes in the
background of one note. In addition to that some notes have the adjesant
wheel leaking through.
The C1 C2 C2D behave correctly here imo. So does they KeyB from a couple of
soundclips I have heard.
Perhaps Guido fixed it in the 2.X version for Hammichord and Mojo.
The click model of the C2D is one step ahead of the Vb3 1.4.
VB3 1.4 was one step ahead of C2 but that is reversed now.
So when you say fake sounding about the C2D - I would like to see the
expression on your face when you test one live.
Will you be as happy as I am????
I am really carefull about saying anything about clones I haven't heard -
Recording can really fool your ears.
For instance - does the recordings of SK1 SK2 do it justice - I don't know,
I hope not for Hammonds sake. But I know that until I hear it and can
perform the tests I need in order to judge it I can't say for sure.
I think most manufacturers demos do not do their instruments justise -
which is sad because you easily do a good recording if you spent the time
and effort to do it right.
The Hammichord and Mojo demos by Max Tempia has had me thinking of getting
one.
